Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how FraudCoins.com uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. “Local storage” is a similar technology that lets a site remember small pieces of information in your browser. Both can be “essential” (needed for the site to work) or “non-essential” (e.g. analytics or advertising).

2. What we use

FraudCoins.com uses essential, first-party browser storage by default. Optional storage (for signed-in accounts) and non-essential storage (advertising, an anonymous scan ping) are only used as described below.

Essential storage

• theme — your light/dark choice. Local storage, until cleared.
• fc_cookie_consent / fc_cookie_consent_at — your response to the cookie banner and when you gave it, so we don’t ask again. Local storage.

Account storage (only if you sign in)

• fc_token — your session token, so you stay signed in. Local storage, cleared on logout.
• fc_user — your public username/avatar for the signed-in UI. Local storage, cleared on logout.

None of the above track you across other websites, are shared with advertisers, or are used to build a profile of you.

Third-party requests

We load market data and coin images from CoinGecko. These requests do not set tracking cookies on our domain, but your IP address is visible to that provider as part of any normal web request, subject to its own policies.

Advertising cookies

We may show ads from Google AdSense or a crypto ad network. These are non-essential and do not load at all unless you choose “Accept all” on our banner — if you reject, no ad scripts or ad cookies are loaded. When enabled, ad providers may set third-party cookies to serve and measure ads. You can also manage Google’s ad personalisation at google.com/settings/ads. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

Scan ping (with consent)

If you accept, we store a short-lived fc_scan_ping marker (session storage) and send an occasional anonymous request to our own server to nudge the daily data scan. It sets no third-party cookies and does not run if you reject non-essential storage.

Analytics

We do not currently use analytics cookies. If this changes, we will update this page and request consent before any such cookies are set.

3. Managing your choices

You can accept or reject non-essential storage via the banner shown on your first visit, and change your mind at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer. You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings; clearing storage resets your theme and consent preferences, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.
